Ransford and Mercy Dei Sealed together on 5 November 2005 in the Ghana Temple

Ransford and Mercy Dei were sealed in the Ghana Temple on 5 Nov. 2005. Ransford works in the kitchen as part of Sister Dadsun's contract crew. Mercy served a mission in Ghana many years ago. They have two girls and she is expecting twins in this picture. They will be born under the covenant.
Sister Ritchie and I were privileged to attend and I was one of the witnesses. We were the only guests at the sealing. Our African friends are not big on planning for this event. We know there were family and church friends who would have been there but for the knowledge that it was going to happen. They also decided to seal their children to them another day. It will be fun to witness the church in another 20 years when more of the traditions that we take for granted will become a part of the African LDS culture - like inviting family and friends to your sealings and bringing the kids along as well to be sealed with mom and dad. President Gunnell invited a temple worker to come into the sealing room to be the 2nd witness along with me. That meant we had two witnesses, Sister Ritchie and Sister Gunnell in attendance - the Spirit was still there and you could tell it was being ratified by the Holy Spirit of Promise - and I guess that is the only 'witness' you really 'have' to have at a sealing.
