New Years Day MTC Open House

The full time missionaries invited us to 'open up' the MTC for a 'first of a kind' MTC Open House on New Years Day. It was a big success with a very big crowd of visitors (mostly members, but scattered with some wonderful new faces). They had asked our missionaries to usher, mix and mingle, but they turned out to be the STARS with their incredibly beautiful choir. They sang Joseph Smith's First Prayer and I believe in Christ. With some verses in English and others in French and then a frequent combination of both they were a spiritual highlight for the Open House... These 'kids' were REALLY good...Elder Kanundeyi from the DRC was the conductor and Mac Wilberg better watch out...this young man has an excellent musical touch...Sister Ritchie was at the 'organ' (piano) but we also have several quite accomplished pianists with this company - quite a musical bunch.
The First Vision was another spiritual moment for those who were with us. They were given a tour of the building as well as some short messages from the missionaries and from the MTC president - that would be me. Everyone seemed to feel the Spirit and be grateful they had taken the time to be with us. "How great shall be your joy...if save one..." Hopefully more than one were eternally touched but even 'if only one..'.
