CES/MTC Day in Kumasi - January 7, 2006

150 plus youth and leaders attended this all Day CES/MTC day in the Kumasi Stake Center - Here they are all commiting to the promise that "I Shall Return" to the MTC and serve a powerful full time mission. They commited to 1) Become Like Nephi, 2) BE Proactive, 3) Be a 100% at Seminary/Institute, 4) ACAD (A Chapter A Day in the Book of Mormon), and 5) ASAW (A Scriptrue memorized every Week). Fun Day.
The chapel full of exciting youth and young adults along with the full time missionaries...Stake President in the far left corner of the picture...
The full time missionaries servnig in the Kumasi area - a few of them 'got away' before the picture was taken...some wonderful memories with each of these wonderful people and some incredible stories of how they arrived in this beautiful land...
The Mensah FAmily - Brother Mensah is the full time CES Coordinator for the greater Kumasi area - nearly 80 classes of CES he supervises - he organized the entire day of Mini MTC training. He has his beautiful wife and two small children and a friend...
The Kumasi airport where I landed (Sister Ritchie stayed home and packed, cleaned and prepared for Group #30 who started arriving before I got off the plane). It had just had a hard rainstorm but looks nearly deserted - a city of 4,000,000 you would expect a more bustling airport but no, it is a very quiet spot with only commuter planes shuttling between here and Accra about four times each day...
My only Domestic airplane ride in two years was aboard this little jewel...contrast these two years which included this round trip 45 minute commuter flight on the same day to our previous two years in Southeast Africa where we boarded 122 of this babies...'slight' difference in our assignment...
